It's amazing how this life, and career can go. It turns out I am staying a week longer in Europe... 2 singers have had to cancel with the Swedish Radio Orchestra, and I am able to replace them both! First I will sing Oedipus Rex in Brussels this Thursday, then go on to Italy with Daniel Harding and do 4 concerts in 4 cities. 3 of Strauss songs, and one of La mort de Cleopatre.
I would like to say all my best to Lisa Milne, who has lost her beloved this week. God Bless you, Lisa.

After a fantastic and exciting performance of Tristan in Berlin with Barenboim, I am in Sweden. Tonight was the first of 3 concerts of the Verdi Requiem with Daniel Harding conducting. He is wonderful. I am having a great time working with him, not to mention how much I love singing the Verdi Requiem! We have fallen in love with Stockholm. It is a beautiful city, with so much to see. Easy to walk around, which we love. And lovely people.
I hope this finds you all well.

Last night we did Verdi Requiem at the BBC proms in London. Let me start by saying Violetta Urmana was stunning, and a true pleasure to work with. This piece is so very special. The whole experience was wonderful. I enjoy singing that piece so very much, musically, vocally, spiritually. It was a real blessing that it all worked out so well, and I had a great weekend in London!

I just returned from Luzern and Hamburg on a tour with the Boston Symphony and James Levine conducting. It was such a wonderful experience. We performed Bartoks Bluebeards Castle, which first of all, I love to sing. It's a huge challenge, but so rewarding. The orchestra was simply fantastic. And of course it is always a huge honor and pleasure to sing with Levine. But the whole organization was so wonderful. It was simply a lovely tour in every way.
